Coffee Date

Yes celebrate.

Thank you so much for joining me for coffee today! I get to have a regular cup and then anything else has to be decaf (including tea). I suspect there’s an ice coffee in my future from a local gas station.

What’s in your cup today?

I found a cinnamon sugar cookie k-like cup in my desk so I made that today with some coconut creamer.

So, I don’t know about where you live, but around here, County Fair season has started. This weekend I’ll be checking out the Sunshine County Fair. I love rides, some of the games, and fair food. It’s just a shame that my favorites aren’t gluten free. Man I miss funnel cakes, corn dogs, pizza cones, hot pretzels, curly fries etc. If I find something that is? All bets are off.

Yes I technically CAN make all of that at home. No, I don’t usually do it. I don’t have a deep fryer, regardless of my Amazon Prime status, I just can’t pull that trigger. I would deep fry all the things to eat! It’s just better I not have one right now.

You know what else I really love at the fair? This might surprise you…The Demolition Derby. If you’ve never been to one, it’s basically an open pit of people driving their cars into one another until only one is left moving. One might think that someone who has had a car accident such as mine years ago would shy away from such things. You’d be wrong. It’s great fun.

What is your favorite part of the fair? I’m hoping for a caramel apple and some rides that leave me feeling spatially disoriented. They’re my favorite.

  1. Eli Pacheco says:

I remember food and cheap baseball caps best. Years ago, at the Cabarrus County Fair, I had something called a Beast sandwich – comprised of barbecue beef, chicken and pork. Food of the Gods. Also, I found a cart selling major-league baseball caps for $5 – and got a Milwaukee Brewers lid for Madison, because it had an M on it.

Demolition Derby sounds like I-485 in Charlotte on race weekend …
