Summer bucket List 2015

Double rainbow to cheer us all up.

I’ve been such a gloomy Gus lately that today we’re going to have a bit of fun. Well, I am, you’re welcome to join me in planning a great summer bucket list. We’re a few days into summer, but I figure it goes until it gets cold again so we have time.

If you need some suggestions to get started, here’s a list of free things to do. and you should feel free to borrow from mine also. There’s also this one and this one (except for the Bethany Mota thing, I can’t get behind that.)

A week or so ago was the first day of summer and it made me think of how I might make my summer AWESOME. Rather than just slap a list together, I took some time (the last 9 days to be exact) to come up with a list of things I’d like to do to make my summer enjoyable, happy, and maybe even relaxing. Sure some of it looks boring, but I think even those things will go a long way to making me smile.

The first change I want to make globally is to wake up a smidge earlier so I can get in a bit of yoga into my morning. If I can make it to work earlier I can leave earlier. Also, I’m going to set up a few things to better utilize my lunch break at work. I’ve been just putzing around for the hour and I could be doing something more productive, creative, etc with it.

Here’s my tentative list:

  1. Enjoy a full meal on the deck with friends.
  2. Reader Assigned
  3. Organize closets
  4. Fenway with Sue for her birthday July 12
  5. Pickle garlic scapes
  6. Visit the beach with BatGirl
  7. Go berry picking
  8. Play with bubbles with Em and O
  9. Touch up walls after Brody leaves again
  10. Go to a flea-market
  11. Clean and seal deck July 5th
  12. Reader Assigned
  13. Hang doors for bedrooms
  14. Go through extra clothes and donate/trash what needs to go
  15. See a Valley Cats game with fireworks
  16. Finish my coloring pages
  17. Hang out by the pool at with my cousins
  18. Make new to us foods
  19. Have home made Fro-Yo for dinner
  20. Take a photo a day for 100 days.
  21. Plant my rose and raspberry bushes
  22. Go to the drive in
  23. Make a few skirts for the fall
  24. Take Brody out to MsBix’s to play with Nyx and the boys
  25. 3 social media free weekends
  26. Make limoncello
  27. Lay in the grass and stare at the stars up at Daddy-Os
  28. Clean up the flower beds and weeds (try to keep them clean too!)
  29. Take my camera on an adventure
  30. Reader Assigned
  31. Go to a live music show
  32. See Hockey Joe
  33. Make and hang bedroom curtains
  34. Mani/Pedi/Eyebrows just once.
  35. Fill up the tank in the Little Sentra that Could and end up wherever
  36. See Theater in the Park
  37. Read 4 books
  38. Volunteer
  39. Visit Robbie at the beach
  40. Reader Assigned
  41. Hang out at the pool with Voice of Reason – Alb edition
  42. Send anonymous surprises.
  43. Water balloon fight
  44. Doodle/sketch a few days a week
  45. Mini Road Trip with Frank
  46. Host a theme gathering (Lemon party? Coloring day? I’m open to ideas.)
  47. Reader Assigned
  48. Take a guitar lesson
  49. Reader Assigned
  50. Paint my nails in colors that make me happy each week

Ultimately I just want to enjoy the summer. The spring was filled with a lot of uncertainty, stress, and anxiety which shut me down a bit. Damn it, I need to live a little.

If you’d like to claim one of the “Reader Assigned” above and plan something fun, let me know and we can talk about it. I’m not made of money and I’ve already got some weekends taken, but I’d love to hear your idea
