A yoga class for everyone! My ass.

Yesterday, Ms.MS and I realized I only had to teach one swim class tonight and that we could make the 6:45 class if she threw my mat down for me.

As she says, “Done and done.”

I’d never met this teacher before and wasnt sure what to expect.

As she set her iPod for class, she asked if anyone was new to this class. A few of us raised our hands and she looked pleased.

She told us other than alignment cues, she didn’t push much and we should make it our own class and use the adaptations she showed if needed.

Then she said, “It’s a class for everyone!”

Let me tell you about this class for everyone! My hands and wrists hate me from the pushing and planking; I had flashbacks to gymnastics class from stretching our legs with the straps; there were points she’d tell us to do something and it was all I could do not to sort out loud or laugh.

I made it through the class, modifying as needed but man…a class for everyone, my ass. A challenging class for everyone maybe!

Excellent post. I hear such good things about yoga but this is *exactly* the reason I won’t try. If your hands and wrists hated you, I can guarantee that mine would have been red, swollen, and painful for days due to Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA).

I do my own stretching exercises so that I don’t lose range of motion.

    Again, excellent post.
