Haunted castles

I’ve written before about my slightly morbid love for urban decay photography.

I just find it incredibly beautiful. I think of the people who walked the halls, touched the left over objects, what caused them to just leave.

So often these abandoned places look like someone just went to the other room, but 50 years ago.

Thank you, BatGirl for this link of haunting photos of abandoned castles. This Martin Vaissie dude has some skills. I’m totally jealous of that and his access to such amazing spaces.

If only those walls spoke…

I also see the beauty of abandon buildings, I wonder what it was like when it was first built, the craftsmanship that went into the creation of it. I also wonder about the generations of people who lived there. The scenarios in my mind are endless.

  2. One of my favorite things, back when I was attending college in Providence, RI, was to visit the old, totally abandoned, oddly stunning buildings in the downtown area. My friends and I would hop over rusty fences and over piles of shattered glass just to find these amazing, private, really spiritually touching environments. Thank you for posting this, and for filling my mind and heart with beautiful memories…
