I’m sure I don’t have to tell you, but it’s Friday! It’s finally here. Praise baby Jebus, the Spaghetti Monster or whom ever it is you praise when things come into place. I’ve been asking Frank every morning when I wake up if it’s Friday yet and he had to tell me no each time.
It’s been quite the week, hasn’t it? There was Wendy Davis’s Filibuster, the Supreme Court said Love should win, DOMA is stupid and Prop 8 is out (prompting this awesome Buzz Feed list.) Okay so SCOTUS didn’t really put it that way and Prop 8 can go up for challenge again, but instead of punting this decision, they made the right one.
Also, you know how much I love a good haiku, right? How about a SCOTUS Haiku Tweeter? No joke! Here’s just a sample:

What exciting things did you find this week?
I didn’t post a recipe earlier this week, I didn’t really have anything to post that I’ve made recently, but I have a treat for you today! You should prob pick up the ingredients on your way home so you can make it and have for the weekend. It’s really that good.
A fellow baking friend mentioned that she was taking some delicious blueberry pie bars that we both make. (We have slightly different versions, but both are really awesome.) Rather than share our secrets, she found this recipe for blueberry pie bars that was pretty close to what we do. This is specifically for a 9×13 pan, ours is for an 8×8 doubled which is a little different. I made the recipe art based on that, rather than our secrets. She reminded me to add the almond extract because it’s yummy.
I’ve made it a few times and it’s always a big hit! If I wasn’t trying to very hard to be good so I can keep on track with the eating/working out gig, I’d make a pan for this weekend myself. Sorry Frank, not this week.
Speaking of eating better and working out, this past week I was in the pool 3 days (2 days teaching 1 day swimming), had a hell of a dance party in my office, and did 20 min on the treadmill after work yesterday. It wasn’t what I used to do, but I have to start somewhere, right? I haven’t been able to run because of my footsies, but I did it. I think I’ll see about a 20 or so minute run outside this weekend and will certainly be dancing as I clean this weekend!
