Thursday Three – Things I did not know

This post could also be titled, Phys Ed, Wrestling, and Fabric have this in common. What is color me surprised? But that was a little long.

Have you ever had a, “Oh wow!” moment when you found out something you previously did not know about a friend or family member? I’ve had a few of those recently. I don’t know if it was my ignorance or if it was just something that didn’t really come up before, but I’ve definitely learned some new things lately, about people I would consider myself to know quite well!

Here’s a few:

  1. My dad has a degree to teach physical education (among many others). Granted his love for sports is well known to me, but I thought his undergrad degree was in history. I guess he just decided during his student teaching that being a phys ed teacher wasn’t for him and he went on to teach 2nd grade, then 4th, then into guidance counseling and then principal and superintendent.
  2. One of my friends was way into wrestling as a kid.  What caught me off guard about this is that I know she was a total girlie girl as a kid so when she told me that the Rock has always been funny I was surprised she knew.
  3. One of my friends (who I consider to be ridiculously creative and artistic) told me that most of her work in art school and after was done in fabric or textiles.  I’ve seen some of her work and it’s clear shes uber talented and it doesn’t surprise me, but it was something I just didn’t know.

How about you? What didn’t I know about you?

Ok fair is fair: Something about me you might not have known? I was thisclose to working for the NRA as an event planner.
