Save a little, save a lot

I sort of did a WTF post yesterday with my enthusiastic PSA so we’ll change up the schedule a little. Thanks for being flexible.

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but we managed to avoid the Fiscal Cliff (for now) but I’m not actually going to talk about that – per se. I’m going to talk to you about something that Sue sent me and she’s doing here.

The picture is all over facebook. I don’t know who made it. I know I made it little so I’ll summarize it (or you can click on it and make it bigger) Basically, you put $1 away for each week that it is. For insistence, last week was the first week of the year so you put $1 away. Sunday marks the end of week two so add $2. The third week ends on Jan 12th, so add $3 more.  By the end, you’ll have $1,378. Or more, nothing’s stopping you from adding a little more once in awhile.

Got it? Easy peasy.

I’m doing it, but I’m doing it in cash for now just because it’s easier that way and I won’t transfer it back to my checking account to spend or pay a bill with. Not to worry, I’ll be safe and each month, I’ll send it to my ING sub account created for it.

So yeah. By the end of this week, I’ll have $3 in my envelope. Sounds little, but it’ll add up. Who knows, I might even add a little extra just for fun.

Are you in for this challenge? I hope I don’t forget!

Seems so little! – Thinking I will try – with a glass jug that has a small neck.. so then, I will have to bust it at the end of the year – since the hubster and I get paid opposite weeks – maybe he contributes the total for his week, and I contribute my total the next.. should be simple as it gets – right?!

Have something to add?
