I could be grumpy about the kids the pool on Saturday who made my lessons less than awesome, I could lament the fact that apparently a reservation is basically meaningless at the local fondue place, that mostly the strangers around me were offering me lessons in patience or that the people at the laundromat were wicked annoying, but I’m choosing instead to love the delights that this weekend held.
This weekend had
- children who were way excited that the hard work they’ve showed means they can progress to the next swim level
- glow in the dark stars and a light up moon
- date night with that guy I married
- craft projects with little buddies
- helping friends figure out patterns with wonky directions
- a nap on Sunday
Likely the most delightful part of the weekend was spending part of it with D’Lovely , her husband C and our friends to celebrate Em’s birthday.
I can’t believe you’re two already. It seems like just yesterday I was visiting you in the hospital and you were looking around to see where my voice was coming from.
It warms my heart when you bring me a book or toy and climb in my lap, or look at me and ask me to “bounce” with you or to swing. I love that you love shoes like I do and that you’re showing artistic interest and talent like your mama. It’s also quite charming that you want everyone to have a turn at whatever we’re doing.
It delights me to no end that you ask if I’m coming over and that you know many times when you see me there will be cupcakes or other yummy food.
I mostly love that you like me more than you did last year. Last year you were a little uncertain and now we’re buddies. That is delightful.
You are delightful. I can’t wait to see what adventures this year has in store for us. I’m hoping for giggles, projects and hugs.
