“Luckiest Girl Alive” award goes to me!

20120812_171433Sunday, D’Lovely with help from Voice of Reason hosted a “shower”  lunch for me in honor of the upcoming Picnic with a Judge. It was a truly lovely day with the amazing women in my life.  Guests included my mother, my g-d mother, my sister, my cousin, my sister in law, friends from college, friends from blogging, friends from my old job in Hell and a few others I’ve collected along the way.

They came from far away and near by, saw tractor trailers blow up, brought wonderful food and drinks, posed for photo ops for my mom, and and shared many laughs.

I can not tell you how utterly blessed I feel to be so very loved. These lovely ladies came together to share food, favorite recipes, advice and love with me just because I’m getting married.

The love and advice they shared was thoughtful (“You’re never alone and you’re always part of a team.”), funny, (“Don’t listen to my father.”), practical (“Men and women shouldn’t share a bathroom, TV, or remote.”) and ongoing (“I don’t have any advice for you today other than to call me when you need advice on something specific.”)

Although I was hesitant to have anything of the sort, it was a perfect day to spend with my friends.

I’ll be sending more formal thank yous to the very special ladies, but I can not put my deep appreciation and gratitude into words right now for these amazing people who shared this special day with me. Thank you.

***I got to spend some one on one time with D’Lovely after the party and Em and I were coloring. She requested that I draw her Big Bird which while I did my best, I did not do it justice. She was showing me how it’s done. I think. Or she was drawing the Spaghetti Monster. Either way. Also, so you know, that’s not dirt on her dress. It’s cupcake. It was that kind of party.***

  3. It was a lovely time, and I am so grateful to everyone for contributing to the fabulousness of the day. Court, you ARE very loved, but that is because you are very LOVING, and have such an amazingly generous heart.

And while the whole afternoon was absolutely super, the best part for me was being able to sit down with you for a little one on one time. 🙂 I love you like nobody’s business.

    Big hugs and smooches,

p.s. Robin, you were TOTALLY at the party in spirit. Your presents for Courtney were truly a highlight of the party :)!!
