As part of my to do list for June I’m doing a Yoga Challenge and making myself Run more. How did it go? The weekend was rough workout wise for a couple of reasons, but I did manage to get a few other things done off that list of things I wanted to accomplish. Running wasn’t one of them, but I did get in a yoga workout on Sportskool.
Saturday (6/2) I did Back Challange by Hala Khouri, a lower back focused one and I wasn’t totally impressed. She didn’t use a whole lot of the new age stuff I can’t stand, but it was more stretching than a workout. I could see it maybe being helpful for people who need to increase flexibility, but it didn’t do much for me.
Thursday (6/7) I just couldn’t get it together for a run so I did another yoga from Sportskool. I think it was Fitness Fusion and I’m sorry that I can’t be more sure about that. It wasn’t terrible, but it was definitely a challenge. I was wondering partway through if I was going to make it, but then I realized we were getting into cool down stretches and I was pleased that I hadn’t thrown in the towel. I’ll do it again until it’s not so hard.
One thing I realized is how much flexibility I have lost lately. Holy crap. I’ll be sure to work on that and I’ll see about doing 4 for next week to make up for this week.
On the running front, I had some foot issues this week, had some serious schedule shake ups and only got one short run in but I did manage a decent swim between classes I was teaching and my private lesson little kids are getting to be better swimmers so I can do more actual swimming with them!
