If I had my druthers…

If I had my druthers,
I’d druther have my druthers
Than anything else I know
While you’d druther hustle
accumulatin’ muscle
I’d druther watch daisies grow.

While they’re growin’ slow
‘n the summer breeze is blowin’
My heart is overflowin’ ‘n so;
If I had my druthers
I’d druther have my druthers
than anything else I know…

~Lil’ Abner

I love that play. Anyway.

From Lisa, I’d rather

Right now, I’d rather:

  • Be outside playing
  • It not be 64*F in my office
  • Not have plans tonight

Tomorrow, I’d rather:

  • Sleep in a bit, pick up the printed invites, and have a semi relaxing day than get up and scramble all day
  • The difficult kids not come to swimming class (it’s mean, but it’s been a long session with some of them)
  • The number on the scale be smaller than it is today.

In general, I’d rather:

  • People be more kind.
  • Not engage in futile arguments or discussion when sharing a similar opinion with someone (I’m not the one arguing or pushing the discussion, I need to stop the conversation.)
  • Do small wonderful things often for people and organizations to help them, rather than grand gestures that are forgotten quickly

What do you rather?

About Court

I spend a lot of time on the pool deck and making treats in my kitchen amongst other things.

  1. Sue says:

I’d rather steal this for my own blog. 🙂

  2. I’d rather be outside than sick with the stomach flu!

  3. Thanks for playing along! 🙂 You know my I’d rathers for today. Another one I didn’t include is that I’d rather wear a dress than wear pants! 🙂
